A native of Los Angeles, Alie Waldman graduated from Brown University and studied Interior Design at UCLA and FIDM. Her uniquely chic shop opened in January 2007 which clearly expresses her broad education and travels. An enthusiastic and talented young designer, Alie has found a niche by setting up the first kitschy antique store on Beverly Boulevard, a street normally associated with high-end lines such as Minotti and Roche-Bobois. She finds her pieces by scouring the country on foot and on-line and brings them back to life by refinishing or recovering them with luxurious fabrics, such as Jim Thompson, Bergamo, John Robshaw and David Hicks. Her taste is eclectic and the shop is representative of many design eras. Alie lives in West Hollywood with her husband, Dan, and their Tibetan Terrier, Roxanne. Family is extremely important to Alie and she is grateful for their love and support everyday. |
